Residents & Families
Rooms, belongings & meals
Practical details for the move: what a room holds, how laundry is handled, and how meals are planned.
Rooms
The resident's room
St. Anne is licensed for 24 provincial long-term care beds plus 5 beds in the Veterans Wing opened in 1997 — 29 residents in total. Rooms are furnished with a bed, storage and call bell; families are encouraged to personalise the space with photos, bedding and small furnishings where safety allows.
In the replacement facility now being built, every resident will have a private room with its own washroom — 32 private rooms in two 16-room wings.
Belongings
What to bring
- Comfortable, washable everyday clothing and non-slip footwear
- Toiletries and any preferred personal care products
- Photos and small keepsakes that make the room feel like home
- Glasses, hearing aids and dentures, each clearly labelled
- A list of current medications for the nursing team
- Health card and Veterans Affairs information, if applicable
Clothing is laundered on site by our Environmental Services team, so every item should be labelled before the move. The Long Term Care Welcome Package explains labelling, laundry and how valuables are handled.

Meals
Food, nutrition & special diets
Cooked on site
Meals are prepared in our own kitchen by the Food Services team and served in the dining rooms, with tray service when a resident is unwell.
Dietitian involvement
A registered dietitian assesses each resident's nutrition needs, adjusts textures and therapeutic diets, and reviews weights with the nursing team.
Preferences & allergies
Tell us about allergies, cultural or religious food requirements and long-standing likes and dislikes at admission — they become part of the care plan.
