Information in a resident's or patient's record is collected and used to provide care, plan services, meet legal and funding reporting requirements, and improve quality and safety. Access is limited to the people who need it for those purposes.

Your rights

  • Ask to see or receive a copy of your record.
  • Ask for a correction if you believe something is wrong.
  • Ask who has looked at your record.
  • Raise a concern with us, or with Nova Scotia's Information and Privacy Commissioner.
